Alex Martyushin is the founder of Risk Samurai and writes the guides on this site: practical, plain-English explanations of risk registers, risk scoring, cyber risk and compliance for small and mid-size organisations.
Why Risk Samurai
Most organisations keep their risk register in a spreadsheet that is updated once a year, before the audit. Risk Samurai exists to make the register a working tool: every risk has an owner, a score, controls, actions and a review date, and AI drafts the first version so teams start from something rather than a blank sheet.
How the guides are written
- Each guide is written for the person who has to do the work — a risk manager, consultant, operations lead or business owner — not for other specialists.
- Standards and regulations (ISO 31000, ISO/IEC 27001, PCI DSS, APRA CPS 230 and others) are checked against the official text or the issuing body’s own publications.
- Scores, thresholds and timeframes in examples are labelled as examples. Where requirements differ by country, provider or regulator, the guide says so.
- Guides carry an “Updated” date and are revised when a standard or regulation changes.
